Account Deletion
Effective Date: April 21, 2026
We respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your MY1ST account and what happens when your account is deleted.
1. How to Request Account Deletion
You can request account deletion through any of the following methods:
Option A: Through the App
- Open the MY1ST app for the role you wish to delete (Educator, Student, or Guardian).
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll down to the Danger Zone section and tap Delete Account.
- If your account has a password set, enter it to confirm your identity.
- Tap Delete my account to submit the request.
Once submitted, the role you were signed in as will be scheduled for deletion. You will be signed out of that role and an on-screen notice will confirm the deletion date (30 days from the request).
Option B: Via Email
Send an email to privacy@myfirsts.ai with:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your MY1ST account
- Your full name as registered on the account
- Which role(s) you want deleted (Educator, Student, Guardian, or all)
We will verify your identity before processing the request to prevent unauthorized deletions.
2. Role-Specific Deletion
A single MY1ST account may hold up to three roles — Educator, Student, and Guardian — sharing the same email and password. When you request deletion from within one role's app, we delete only that role and the data associated with it. Your other roles and their data remain untouched.
Your overall MY1ST account is only deleted when the last remaining role is scheduled for deletion. If you want your entire account removed, request deletion from each of your active roles.
3. 30-Day Grace Period & Reinstatement
Every deletion request enters a 30-day grace periodbefore the data is permanently removed. During this window your data is retained but the account is inactive — we will not use it for any active service.
If you change your mind within the 30 days, simply sign back in to the app using the same email and password (or SSO provider) you used before. Signing in during the grace period automatically cancels the scheduled deletion and restores full access — no email or support request required.
After 30 days the data is permanently removed by our nightly purge job and cannot be recovered.
4. What Gets Deleted
When the grace period ends, the following data is permanently removed for the deleted role:
- Role Profile: The profile record tied to that role (educator, student, or guardian) and any data unique to it.
- Student Records: For Educator deletions — all student profiles, enrollment data, and associated information you created.
- Course Data: Courses, class schedules, and educational content you created.
- Attendance Records: All attendance tracking data.
- Financial Records: Payment records, invoices, and financial data.
- Feedback & Reports: Student feedback, progress reports, and uploaded attachments.
- Guardian Connections: All guardian invitations and access permissions tied to the deleted role.
If this was the last active role on your account, we additionally delete:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, password hash, and profile photo.
- Platform Settings: Your personal preferences and app settings.
- Linked SSO Providers: Any Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or Apple logins linked to the account.
5. What May Be Retained
In limited circumstances, certain data may be retained after account deletion:
- Legal Obligations: Data required by law, regulation, or legal proceedings may be retained for the mandatory period.
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytics and service improvement.
- Backup Systems: Data in encrypted backups may persist until the backup cycle completes (up to 30 days).
6. Processing Timeline
| Step | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Request acknowledgment (in-app) | Immediate |
| Request acknowledgment (email) | Within 24 hours |
| Identity verification (email requests) | 1 – 3 business days |
| Grace period (sign back in any time to reinstate) | 30 days from request |
| Complete data deletion | On the next nightly purge after the 30-day grace period ends |
| Backup purge | Within 30 days after deletion |
7. Before You Delete
Please consider the following before requesting account deletion:
- Export Your Data: Download any records you wish to keep (student data, financial reports, attendance records) before requesting deletion. Once the 30-day grace period ends, data cannot be recovered.
- Active Subscriptions: Cancel any active subscriptions through the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.
- Other Roles: If you share one email across multiple roles, deleting one role does not affect the others. Sign into each role and request deletion separately if you want the whole account removed.
- Guardian Access: Guardians who were granted access to student profiles will lose access when the student or educator role is deleted.
- Irreversible after 30 days: Account deletion is permanent once the grace period ends. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use the Service again.
8. Contact Us
